Insomnia
January 3 - January 24
Insomnia is the inability to sleep at night. If you have ever experienced it yourself, you know what a terrible feeling it is. Usually there is a reason, a cause, for this restlessness. Are you experiencing a type of insomnia in your life: some fear that is keeping you up into the night; that is keeping you from living a life of peace and contentment? If so, you are not alone. Life in our culture today is full of reasons for fear, apprehension and stress, even panic. Is there an antidote to this kind of debilitating fear? Yes! In a word, the antidote is trust. Not a trust in people or finances or government; but rather a trust in God. We invite you to this message series as we will give the biblical cure for your Insomnia.
January 3rd: What Keeps You Up at Night?
As we move into 2010, here's a question to ponder: What keeps you up at night? Really. Is there something in your life - a fear - that has you paralyzed? For most of us, this kind of paralyzing fear is in some way linked to the future, the unknown. What is the economy going to do? Will I be able to keep my job? Will my kids turn out ok? Will my health stay intact? If some kind of fear is keeping you up at night, then you need to listen to the words of Jesus, who emphatically gives us his antidote. If there is one primary cause for Insomnia, it is a fear of the ultimate unknown: the fear of what will take place when we draw our last breath.
